My name is Nancy Velasco, born and raised in Los Angeles. I’m a product of LAUSD and proud to be back serving as a teacher for the visually impaired students.
I have been part of the Van Ness family for five years as a special education assistant working with visually impaired students from preschool to 5th grade. My love for this special population has led me to pursue my degrees in child development and visual impairment credential. I’m so thrilled to be given the opportunity to start my career in teaching at Van Ness, my second home, with amazing students and staff.
Some of my favorite pastimes are hiking and riding my bike. When I have more time, I love to travel to sightsee, explore various foods, and learn about different cultures.
