My main goals, as an educator, are to create a classroom environment that supports a diverse group of learners and to cultivate a strong sense of self and contribution within each student. The students in my classroom help to create a community in which every child feels safe to take risks and to be themselves. I provide opportunities to share their hopes and dreams as learners and to support one another in their collective and individual endeavors, big and small. In teaching and instruction, I create differentiated lesson plans with clear objectives and engaging activities. Students feel honored, valued and respected in my classroom.
I have been teaching for 10 years and have primarily taught kindergarten through second grade. I love to travel and am also a contemporary dancer. I look forward to my first year teaching at Van Ness Elementary and feel excited to be a part of this new school community!
