Hello, I’m Ms. Brodsley. I am a National Board Certified Teacher with 23 years of experience in education, and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade at Van Ness. I am thrilled to be a part of a STEAM school, because I absolutely love teaching science! I also enjoy the theatre arts like dancing, music, and singing. My favorite sports are hiking in the mountains and racing catamaran sailboats in Big Bear Lake.

I am especially passionate about teaching writing and reading through a workshop model that allows all students to access literature and develop their voices as authors. I strongly believe in the idea of connection and purpose. I work throughout the year to connect all of our learning to the real world, so we understand how our writing, our projects, and our creativity can affect change in our community, and how as citizens, we are stewards of the world. I am committed to engaging students in critical thinking, fostering innovation, helping children develop a growth mindset, and inspiring a love of learning.
