Mission Statement

Van Ness Avenue Elementary is a small, LAUSD neighborhood school where every student and their family is known, valued, and respected. We empower and encourage children to think critically, express themselves creatively, and care for others. Through rigorous academics, STEAM initiatives, Project-Based Learning and Restorative Justice, we strive to prepare the whole child for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

We believe in Inclusive Education. Through purposeful and intentional integration, our diverse population of students learn and grow together. We foster citizens who strive for the best in themselves while caring about their fellows. Our community school develops and nurtures learners who will be able to face the challenges of the future with determination, thoughtfulness and compassion.

Van Ness Avenue Elementary es una pequeña escuela del vecindario de LAUSD donde cada estudiante y su familia es conocido, valorado y respetado. Potenciamos y alentamos a los niños a pensar críticamente, expresarse creativamente y cuidar a los demás. A través de académicos rigurosos, iniciativas STEAM, Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos y Justicia Restaurativa, nos esforzamos por preparar al niño para los desafíos y oportunidades del siglo XXI.

Creemos en la Educación Inclusiva. A través de una integración deliberada e intencional, nuestra diversa población de estudiantes aprende y crece juntos. Promovemos ciudadanos que luchan por lo mejor en sí mismos mientras se preocupan por sus compañeros. Nuestra escuela comunitaria desarrolla y nutre a los alumnos que podrán enfrentar los desafíos del futuro con determinación, consideración y compasión.
